LOCALIZATION PROJECT MANAGER - Full-Time - Remote

Do you have a passion for languages and cultures? You will have the chance to use your language skills daily and interact with a dynamic and diverse team. We are currently looking for a Localization Project Manager to work with our team in the San Diego office and in other parts of the world.

If you enjoy teamwork in a multicultural environment, speak two languages (or more), and have a few years’ working knowledge in the localization industry, we want to hear from you. You must be able to work with our San Diego team, between 8:30am and 4:30pm PST, Monday through Friday (35-hour week). This is a 10-month contract, renewable based on performance. This is a remote position but you will need to be able to work with our schedule. There will be a PM test and an 8-week trial period to ensure this is the right fit.

What you will be doing

• Responsibilities include planning and execution of Localization, DTP and LQA projects from start to finish.

• Tasks are project analysis, quoting, project planning/preparation using standard localization industry processes and tools, maintaining client contacts, task assignments, scheduling, project/budget tracking, client deliveries, TM updates, closing of projects...

• Ensure that data on our project management portal and our JIRA trackers are accurate and up to date.

• Oversee external teams and ensure strict adherence to timelines, instructions, and quality requirements on all projects.

• Maintain and establish strong relationships with both internal/external resources and customers.

• Provide bi-weekly project status and quarterly QBRs to management and clients on project progress and budgets.

• Provide excellent customer service and represent BeatBabel in client-facing communications and calls.

What you need to have

• Ideally, 2 to 3 years of work experience in the translation industry in a management or coordinator position, handling multilingual localization and DTP projects..

• Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken). Fluent in at least one other language (Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese or Arabic preferred).

• BA or MA Degree (linguistics, translation, business, or technology preferred).

• Good knowledge of internationalization and localization processes.

• Excellent communication skills and time management skills.

• Ability to budget, handle multiple tasks across time zones, prioritize work, and follow through with projects.

• Be detail-oriented and apply a meticulous approach to work.

Computer Skills

• Proficient with a PC and extensive use of MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, PPT, Word)

• Extensive use of the most relevant CAT/TMS tools (Phrase, Trados or similar) and TBMS (Plunet or similar)

• Hands-on experience with desktop publishing (DTP) applications (Adobe Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator)

Bonus Skills

• Knowledge of JIRA and QBRs

• Experience with multimedia projects and tools (Storyline, Premiere or similar)

• Experience in machine translation, AI and voice-over technologies
