João Pedro was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and joined the BeatBabel team in the summer of 2019.
He started his studies in Languages at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in 2013, where he had his first professional experience as a Portuguese and French teacher. During the first years of his Bachelor’s, the passion for foreign languages dawned on him (he even took Italian, German and Chinese classes!).
In 2015, João decided to study abroad at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. From then on, he has never stopped traveling and fell in love with France. João lived in Martinique for a year, a French island in the Caribbean Sea, working as a language assistant, and then moved to Strasbourg and completed his diploma in Linguistics. In 2018, he had his first few gigs as a freelance translator and interpreter and started the CAWEB Master’s degree program in Localization, Multimedia and Web technologies at the University of Strasbourg.
Eager to learn more about the localization industry and curious about experiencing a new life abroad (this is now his 4th continent!), João joined our team in San Diego as a localization project coordinator.
