Standards in localization are important. As a localization service provider we focus on being a partner to our clients, with an emphasis on consulting and preparation of material to be localized. This is where a commonly accepted set of standards helps all parties involved deliver better and quicker service.

During June, you can find BeatBabel at this year’s Localization World conference in Barcelona, Spain. The main focus for the conference this year will be “Innovation,” and will cover topics such as global business best practices, managing global websites, localization core competencies and advanced localization management.

This year, the Think Latin America conference was held in the United States and BeatBabel was there. Taking place in Silicon Valley, the event brought together industry experts from Latin America and the U.S.

On April 12th, Marie took some time to talk about her experiences as a businesswoman in the translation industry, as the guest speaker for a lunch organized by the Women’s International Center, the French-American Women’s Club of San Diego and the San Diego French-American Chamber of Commerce.

BeatBabel was featured in an article for the March 21st edition of “The San Diego Business Journal,” the local business economy publication. The article titled, “Translator has Good Words to say about Providing Human Touch” highlights BeatBabel’s company profile and quotes Marie Flacassier and Burckhardt Rueffer on the challenges and particularities within the translation and localization industry today.

BeatBabel has settled into its new home on 964 5th Avenue, with an ample view of downtown San Diego. The suite is conveniently located in the heart of San Diego in what is known as “The Gaslamp Quarter.”

BeatBabel was at Localization World in Seattle in October of 2010 where the conference theme was “Know-how for Global Success.” Localization World attracted professionals to “learn new tools, methods and business practices in the areas of localization and internationalization.”

BeatBabel’s Marie Flacassier was on T.V.! Marie was interviewed for San Diego’s local channel 4 “Shades of San Diego” multicultural segment, to talk about the benefits of being a member of the San Diego French-American Chamber of Commerce and the upcoming “Bastille Day” celebration in France. Listen to what Marie had to say about these topics by clicking here.

BeatBabel’s Marie and Burckhardt jointly led a presentation on “Best practices in Vendor Management: Why Less is More,” during the Vendor Management Seminar in July of 2010. "Big or small, service is about relationships" says Marie Flacassier, see article about IMTT's Vendor Management Seminar in Las Vegas in Multilingual Magazine.

During June of 2010, BeatBabel traveled to Berlin, Germany for the 15th Localization World conference where the theme was “Know-how for Global Success,” and the presentations focused on localization as a “critical step for a company’s progression from domestic to global enterprise.”

BeatBabel attended Think Latin America during April of 2010. Taking place in the town of Búzios near Rio de Janeiro, the Think Latin America conference drew industry professionals and global brands such as Coca-Cola, MGM-Networks and others, to spotlight and discuss the growing opportunities within the Latin American market. Organized by our friends from IMTT, the seminar was one of the best in the industry in 2011.

In October of 2009, BeatBabel’s Burckhardt Rueffer was invited by SDL to present on multilingual content management and the benefits of using translation memory tools for complex localization projects.

During October of 2009, BeatBabel traveled to Santa Clara California for the 14th Localization World conference and even got a back tour of the Facebook offices as an added bonus. Fun trip!
